There are several music followers who'd love to play a couple of classic speakers or even a vacuum tube av receiver created at some time within the 1950s than the so-called micro-processor driven, electric sounding pieces made right now. Dynaco vintage stereo speakers are nice, especially the sound of the Dynaco a35 speakers. It was a challenge restoring these Dynaco speakers. With the help of Bondo in the joints and T-nuts to hold the 10" Seas woofers in tight it was well worth it. These Dynaco A35 speakers sound very nice and i plan to clone a of pair A25 or A35. I decided to paint them because of the joints, so I coated them with primer first, then sanded and painted them black.

Apparently they sold me the cheapo model, compared to what Burton got. The same company appears to be selling the better model, with woodgrain front and polypropylene woofers, under the ESS brand -- at a higher price. Are those worth the extra money? Maybe. Are these "cheapo" ones worth .99? I'd say no, but look out for no-reserve auctions where you may be able to get a pair much cheaper (I saw one auction end at less than , shipping still included). ps I just contacted the eBay seller asking either to exchange these for the "good" version, or for a partial refund. I'll let you guys know what happens!
Antique loudspeakers are excellent at recreating the whole music span when testing relatively level. Anytime combined with the proper products this tends to produce unbelievable seperation and positioning of vocals and instruments. It provides the sort of audio where if you close your eyes it's tough to tell that you are actually hearing a recording.
